Neural Prolotherapy

Neural Prolotherapy, also called Neurofascial Prolotherapy and Perineural Injection Technique has been shown to be safe and effective for nerve-related pain (Neurogenic Pain).

Neural Prolotherapy, also known as Neurofascial Prolotherapy, Perineural Injection Therapy and Subcutaneous Prolotherapy is a Regenerative Medicine treatment developed by Dr. John Lyftogt, in New Zealand.

This treatment targets inflamed or irritated nerves lying just under the skin that can be causing pain. This can be a result of injury, trauma or overuse. When a nerve becomes inflamed, it may not only causes pain in the skin, muscle and joint of the surrounding area, it may also cause degeneration of the surrounding shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee, ankle, and spine. Dr. Lyftogt believes this is because nerves are involved in the health and regeneration of tendons, ligaments, and cartilage.

Neurofascial Prolotherapy involves the mini injection of 5% dextrose to target those inflamed nerves. This causes an increased level of growth factors in the area to help restore the health of the nerve. Once the nerve function is normalized, the pain is often improved.
